Planting

To produce good quality beans, coffee plants need tender loving care. They start life in large beds in shaded nurseries for the first year. After sprouting, the seedlings are planted in individual pots and nurtured till they are strong enough to be permanently planted. Newly planted coffee trees take about 3 or 4 years to bear fruit.

Harvesting
The coffee tree bears fruits called “coffee cherries” which are green at first, but turn bright orangey-red when they mature and ripen, and are ready to be harvested.
